Danielle and Tim | Newport Engagement Photography

When Danielle messaged me looking to do her engagement session in Newport, Rhode Island, I knew that the beautiful Cliff Walk, Ochre Court and at her suggestion, Midtown Oyster Bar would be perfect this time of year. The scenery of Newport is quintessential RI, and while Danielle and Tim await their Linden Place wedding in Bristol, Rhode Island, where else to get a little posing practice than in America's most beloved summer playground?

Danielle and Tim, in fact, needed no practice with posing. They were complete naturals and perhaps, the most adorable couple I've ever met. I mean, look at Tim's shirt at the Oyster Bar?! It's just quirky, funny and a nod to the fact that they can never have any pets due to his allergies. Way to give to your lady, Tim. At least she has a cat on your shirt!

By the way, you can find that bad boy on Amazon. You can thank me later.

Mike + Shaunna | Harkness State Park, Waterford, CT engagement session | House of Lubold Photography

NO WORDS.

Simply. There are no words to describe how much we love this couple. We use our engagement sessions as a way to get to know our couples, have them become familiar with our personalities and shooting style, and overall, just to get comfortable in front of the camera.

Shaunna and Mike not only have awesome names VERY similar to ours, they also share a love of photography. The decision to book HOLP was not one they made on a whim; they researched and ultimately followed their hearts. Because really, we're client/photographer soul mates.

We shot their engagement session in late September, just before sunset at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Connecticut. The park was packed with events, a wedding and birthday parties, but can you tell? We managed to get all the images we traveled there for, plus new ones. We're quite excited for their wedding next fall. Really. There are no words.

HOLP does Brooklyn

When Darren and Vanessa booked us last summer, we were thrilled to learn all about them and their life together in New York. More than anything, I wanted to meet them in Brooklyn for their engagement session. I was so happy when they gave in to my demands. :) The weather here in MA was miserable. It was that rainy Sunday where about 5 inches fell from the sky. The closer we got to New York, the grip my anxiety had over my heart loosened. Rain. Free.

The skies were overcast, there was wind and intermittent drizzle. But Darren and Vanessa worked with it and did a fabulous job as models for us.

We're super stoked for their September nuptials in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Here are a few of our favorite shots from our session:

And when all was said and done, Mike took me shopping. To the best stores in the world. Life is a love story.
